The information we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • Your name,

  • Information such as postcode, preferences and interests,
  • Personal information such as your National Insurance Number
  • Other information used in connection with customer surveys and/or offers,
  • Information in relation to a quotation for conveyancing services, and
  • Information about any matter which you instruct us to undertake on your behalf.

Sometimes we receive information about you from other sources (such as external agencies when verifying your identity) which we will add to the information we already hold about you in order to help us comply with our obligations and provide our services to you. If you give us information on behalf of someone else, you are confirming that the other person has appointed you to act on his/her behalf and has agreed that you can give consent on his/her behalf to the processing of his/her personal data.

  • It is necessary to comply with a legal obligation (i.e. anti-money laundering or registering a property at the Land Registry)

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.  None of our data is stored outside of the UK.

Retention

If you do not instruct us in relation to a legal matter, then we will retain your personal data for a period of 1 year.

If you instruct us to act for you in relation to a legal matter, then we will retain your personal data in accordance with our usual retention periods, details of which are set out in our client care letter and/or terms of business sent to you on confirmation of those instructions.

If you follow links to other websites from our website, we cannot provide any assurances in relation to the content, accuracy, or privacy of those websites, and cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites.
